I wanted to add a pattern to the fence of the gazebo, so I started making a square pattern that could be repeated.

Creating the pattern was fairly easy, extruding the cube to the desired length, adding loop cuts and extruding once again.
I made sure to keep it close to a square so it could easily be stacked. For the fence, I wanted three on each side, so I just flipped the pattern 180 degrees each time.

putting them in groups of three I combined them and did the same for every side of the fence, flipping it 180 degrees each time.
rounding the pattern for the other part between the roofs was a quite difficult. I ended rotating a small part of the pattern to try and make it curved. This kind of of messed up the faces, which made the Boolean not show up properly.

You can see areas that have been slightly curved ended up not being straight along the front and back, which caused the Boolean issue. I tried to boolean many times, but the pattern wasn’t thick enough to penetrate into the pieces properly, There were always a few areas that didn’t boolean through. Another issue when I tried to thicken the pieces was that they would start to overlap as I continued to make them thicker. After many attempts, I managed to successfully print the pattern on my pieces.

Trying to Boolean the pattern on the fence was even more of an issue, i couldn’t figure out why both meshes would disappear after doing a Boolean, I tried doing each side individually and combining all the sides at once but it just didn’t seem to work.
I had a few others take a look to try and figure out what was wrong but no one seem to know the cause. I tried making the pieces thicker like I did with the other part but that didn’t seem to be the issue
