As my character was the first/middle part of the infection, I didn’t want to make it too gory or monster-like. My idea was to have a humanoid-like creature with porcelain skin and longer limbs and as a bonus, even move like a puppet with strings attached to her.
Looking on Pinterest I was very inspired by ball-jointed dolls (BJD). I really liked their big eyes and soft-looking features, especially the makeup. I loved the heavy blush on the cheeks and softness of the lips
Another look I was inspired by was Maison Margiela’s couture spring 2024 show’s makeup looks by Pat McGrath
I loved the glossy porcelain look on the skin, as well as the thin brows and red lips, it really gave the look of the BJD dolls that I wanted to achieve.
I ended up spending a lot of time on Pinterest, gathering ideas for my concept sketch.
