Environment + Camera

For the environment, I was looking to make an old wooden house, something similar to the house Bienvenido from RE Village. I used this shot from the game and a picture from Adobe Stock as a reference for my environment.

I opened a new file with the body imported in so I could get the size and placement right. I started off with the side walls, making a very simple panel with bevelled edges for the wooden patterns and then a single panel for the wall. The patterns were duplicated for different areas.

For the textures, I went on PolyHaven and grabbed a dark wood and plaster wall texture

I also grabbed a few assets from PolyHaven as well for my scene to make it less empty

I also made some wall stands for the candles on the side and added point lights on individual canldes, setting the light to a dark yellow.

I used the array and mirror modifier for the walls and duplicated the bevelled edges for the planks on the wall and the roof. I used the wooden floor texture on a plane for my floor and the roof I used the same plaster texture as the walls.

This was the final look of the scene, which I was quite happy about, I liked the dark creppy energy it was giving and to make sure everything looked fine when animating, I added a camera and had a look around before importing back into my animation file.

I felt that my camera was too still so I added in some camera shaking movement by following this video. It was very helpful and I easily achieved the camera shake I wanted using the noise modifer.
